I took her in the most incredible place on earth
A house up so up in the sky, its existence defied gravity
In its extent, it’s terrace overlooked the vast dark sea
Withholding infinite secrets, like one of us human beings
The arrangement was fantastic; all it lacked was love
She was frightened by the rushing emptiness of the cold
Night air, the pale face of the moon, seeming
So distracted among the hastening clouds, of the brutal sound
Of waves turning against each other, crashing
Love – who would have thought it really mattered?
